Side is a body-doubling app. We do not use your camera or microphone.
Who we are
Side (“we”) is a body-doubling and focus-room product. This website is sidefocus.app. The iOS app is Side: Live Focus Rooms (bundle id com.side.focus). Until a legal entity name and mailing address are confirmed, we identify as the operator of Side (sidefocus.app). Contact: support@sidefocus.app.
What Side does not collect
We do not access your camera or microphone. Rooms are text and a shared timer.
Information we collect
This website (waitlist)
- Email, timezone, stated use case, and platform preference
- Optional attribution (UTM parameters and referrer)
- Technical data used to prevent abuse: IP address (for rate limits) and user agent, retained only as needed
The iOS app (when you create an account)
- Account identifiers (Supabase Auth: email or Sign in with Apple / Google, or a guest id)
- Profile display name (generated or chosen)
- Room, session, goal, check-in, and history data you create
- Push token if you allow notifications
- Approximate network state as needed to run the session
Crash and product analytics
Sentry: crash reports, device/OS, and stack traces. Used to fix bugs. We ask vendors not to use this for advertising.
PostHog: product events (for example sign-in method, session started or completed). We do not send your email as an analytics id. Marketing site events include waitlist signup without the email address.
Apple
TestFlight and the App Store process install and crash data under Apple’s terms.

Why we use data
We use this information to provide the beta and the app, prevent abuse, understand whether the product works, and comply with law. Waitlist email is for a TestFlight invite and related product email only, not a newsletter until you are in the app and opt in.
Retention
Waitlist: until you ask us to delete it, or after public launch plus a reasonable period. App account: until you request deletion. Analytics: per vendor defaults and our project settings.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data with the processors above and if required by law.
Your rights
Email support@sidefocus.app to access, correct, or delete waitlist or account data. If you used Sign in with Apple, deletion will also follow App Store guidelines when the app is public.
Children
Side is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 where required). Do not sign up if you are under that age.
International
Data may be processed in the United States (Vercel, Supabase, and PostHog US cloud unless configured otherwise).

We will update this page and the “Last updated” date when the policy changes.
